Erdmann Receives Scholarly Recognition

Senior Mary Erdmann has been named as one of five Oklahoma State Scholars Society Fellows. Oklahoma State University provides the scholarship as a commitment to "nurture and grow Oklahoma students who demonstrate academic performance, a proven record of accomplishments and a combination of emotional maturity and native intelligence.” Students who are eligible based on GPA, test scores, and Honors College acceptance are scored on their leadership resume and essays. Fifty semifinalists are phone-interviewed, twenty are invited to in-person interviews with faculty and from those 20 five fellows are selected “based on work ethic, maturity, and potential.” Fellows receive scholarship dollars estimated at the cost of four years of attendance and a one-time stipend to study abroad. OSU President Burns Hargis congratulated Mary on the OSSS Fellows award through a personal video welcoming her to OSU.

In addition to the OSSS Fellows award, Erdmann has also been named a Carl and Gladys Herrington President’s Distinguished Scholar, a Regent’s Distinguished Scholar, and a Freshman Research Scholar and was selected for the President’s Leadership Council.
