St. Nicholas Toy Drive for Catholic Charities

We would like to tell you about the National Honor Society (NHS) toy drive for Catholic Charities. The St. Nicholas Toy Drive is in its 15th year at Catholic Charities. This program has served over 300 families and as many as 900 children each year. Last year, Cascia students provided 125 children with Christmas gifts.
Families that are eligible to participate in this years’ program have worked closely with Catholic Charities caseworkers to identify their children’s Christmas wishes and needs. Cascia Hall, once again, has been given 125 children. We ask you to get together with some friends or do this with your family to help someone in need during this time of giving.

Here is how it works:
  1. Pick a card off the tree in the Upper School lobby or in Mrs. Pearson’s classroom in the Middle School. There is a boy tree and a girl tree, each with a wide variety of ages. The card has all of the important information on it: child’s name, age, sizes, and items for your gift selection. DO NOT LOSE THE CARD!!! The card is actually a sticker this year.
  2. Sign your name on the spreadsheet next to the child you adopted. This is very important!! We need to know who took each child.
  3. Please do not wrap any of the gifts--just return them in a big bag. Attach the sticker to the outside of your big bag. Without that card, Catholic Charities won’t know whose gifts they are! It is suggested that each child receives around 3 gifts with a combined total of $50-$75.
  4. Friday, December 6th, is the final turn-in day. It will be here fast, so please don’t waste any time picking your child and make someone’s Christmas very special!
