Farewell Napoleon Bonaparte

The AP European History classes bid farewell to Napoleon Bonaparte.

Sarah Jackson portrayed a bereft Josephine Bonaparte, while Luke Baber was a more composed Pope Pius VII who was very diplomatic about his parting words to Napoleon.
Admiral Horatio Nelson (Travis Guillory) treated us all to a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace and although Nelson was a great adversary of Napoleon he still recognized him as a great military General. Alex-Marie Constable found it hard to contain herself as she said Au Revoir to the man who allowed her to return to France and reclaim her position as part of the French aristocracy. And finally, as a French newspaper editor, Trace Van Pelt did not have any tears for the man who introduced harsh censorship and closed all but 4 newspapers in France. During his reign, Napoleon disregarded many freedoms gained during the French Revolution and used his secret police to imprison many political opponents.

So, love him or hate him, friend or foe, hopefully, none of these AP European History students will ever forget - Napoleon Bonaparte, Napoleon I, Emperor of the French who died May 5th, 1821.
