Guillory Competes in ACT-SO

Cascia student Travis Guillory ‘21 recently competed in the ACT-SO Competition in Garland, Texas.  ACT-SO (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics) is a year-long enrichment program that holds annual competitions across the country in numerous categories, including Fine and Performing Arts and STEM.
Unable to travel to Texas to compete due to the pandemic, Travis, with the assistance of his teacher Candy Coonfield, competed via Zoom on May 26 in both the Classical and Contemporary Music categories.  Travis just received the judges' feedback via email and the critiques were very positive!  Now, Travis has been asked to submit an additional recording of his Classical performance and attend the Virtual Garland NAACP Youth Council Image Awards Ceremony on June 13 at 7:00 pm.  We are looking forward to this exciting event as Travis is recognized for his excellence and hard work.  Watch for further details to be released, including a link to the awards ceremony (released the morning of June 13) for anyone wishing to attend, and a link to his Classical Performance once the awards ceremony has been completed.
