As we approach the end of the semester, it will be increasingly important for absences to be kept to a minimum. Please review the following information from the student handbook regarding attendance:
Any student who has missed more than eight periods of a course will be subject to review by the Attendance Committee. This review may result in credit not being given.
If an absence is necessary, the parent or guardian must call the Attendance Office (Upper School 746-2613, Middle School 746-2616) by 9:00 a.m. to report the absence. A phone call must be made to the Attendance Office each day the student is absent.
It is strongly recommended that appointments be made outside the normal school day. In the event an appointment can only be made during school hours, arrangements should be made through the Attendance Office with a phone call by 9:00 a.m. the day of the appointment and documentation of the absence provided upon returning to school.
Parents must come into the office to pick up Middle School students leaving early. Upper School students will simply be dismissed at the time the parent has requested.
While we understand that last-minute situations do arise from time to time, we appreciate your calling ahead for early dismissals to minimize class disruptions and so the student can be ready to leave at the requested time.
