Ashlyn Milford Presented Service Award by NCEA

Congratulations to freshman Ashlyn Milford who is one of 10 recipients nationwide of the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) Youth Virtues, Valor, and Vision Award which recognizes extraordinary young people in Catholic schools who through their selfless service, innovation, and commitment to social justice are changing the world.
Each NCEA member Catholic school is eligible to nominate one student. Ashlyn was nominated by Fr. Brian Barker (former Director of Augustinian Mission) for initiating the Hearts for Haiti collection at school that raised thousands of dollars to build a home for a family in Haiti.

The NCEA Youth Virtues, Valor and Vision Award program is made possible, in part, through the generosity and support of Cross Catholic Outreach, a Catholic ministry who believes in and celebrates young people in Catholic schools who are making a profound difference, even at a young age, to a myriad of under-served constituencies.

On campus to present the award were Dr. Pamela Bernards of NCEA, Ms. Annette Castellano of Cross Catholic Outreach, and Fr. Brian Barker, all of whom traveled from out of state for the presentation at St. Rita of Cascia Chapel on Monday, February 11.
