Four Cascians to Perform at Carnegie Hall

This year, four Cascia students will be performing at Carnegie Hall this February as part of the Carnegie Hall Honors Performance Series.   High school students from around the world audition to be a part of this prestigious event.  Students send in recorded audition material during the summer demonstrating their musical abilities in their chosen field.   Then comes the long wait - students don't find out if they are selected until Oct 31!  Those selected are given the honor of performing in an honors group on the famed Carnegie Hall stage in New York City in February.  Cascia has a tradition of sending talented students to this event an this year is no exception.  Travis Guillory and Joseph Barbour were both selected as members of the Carnegie Hall Honors Concert Choir, Camryn Hurley was selected as a member of the Carnegie Hall Honors Women's Choir, and Margaret Barbour was selected as a violinist in the Carnegie Hall Honors Orchestra.  Camryn, Travis, and Joseph will be working diligently on their required music with Mrs. Coonfield throughout the month of January so they are ready for February's performance.  Meanwhile, Margaret will be busy preparing with her violin instructor.  Congratulations to all four of these students for this terrific achievement.
